SAFETY PROGRAM
SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The City of Ironton has developed a comprehensive safety and health program, to help establish and maintain a safe work environment for all employees and visitors.
The program was developed to help the City of Ironton comply with OSHA regulations, but more importantly, to aid in the prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses.
The program's effectiveness depends on the commitment to the program and the practice of its elements. The implementation and enforcement of the program is the responsibility of the City Administrator and Department Heads.
The City of Ironton safety program will be updated at least yearly by the Safety Committee, or as needed when a problem with the program arises.
In addition to this safety program manual, the City of Ironton will supplement the safety efforts of the employees through educational programming, regular safety meetings, and a safety incentive program.
